ReplyDeleteI thought ‘The feast of the Goat” was kind of disturbing. I have not seen many movies about dictators, and the ones that I have were not so in-depth. It was a good movie to see to get an understanding of how a dictatorship works in a country versus a democracy. I liked how men in the General’s army actually stood up and took him out, because if they had not killed him, his reign would have continued. What did disturb me was how this one man had control over many people’s lives and decisions. The fact that Uranita’s father would do what he did to his own daughter just to seek forgiveness and approval from the General, for something he never actually did, made me very upset. To him, his importance to the dictator was more important than his own daughter. It is sad to think that people in other countries, whether out of fear, loyalty or love think this same way towards their leaders. It was a good movie just very disturbing issues.
