El ano que mis padres se fueron de vacaciones/The year my parents went on vacation Summary

This movie is about a 12-year-old boy. His dream is to see the football team win its third world championship. Suddenly, he is separated from their parents and taken to live in the strange but fun community among other cultures, Jewish and Italian community in the city. While in his new community he meets new friends and forms close relationships. This boy is essentially left alone in a Jewish neighborhood in the year of 1970, where both world cup and dictatorship happen in Brazil. The parents actually end of returning in time for the World Cup.
I thought this movie was quite interesting considering I’ve never seen a movie similar to this. Although I was slightly confused because it was in Spanish I seemed to follow most of the movie. The plot of the movie was also very different than most movies that are made for the United States, and for that fact I believe that’s why I enjoyed it.
